It is hard to believe in today's modern world, where television and radio bring wonderful images of animal life to us, that man can still create situations of cruelty and hardship for those we share our planet with.
At Buttercups, mistreated, abused, starved, and abandoned goats are taken into care, and given an environment of love and kindness. With us, their hurts are treated and their experience of cruelty replaced with understanding and trust.
Photos of Diesel show an example of one goat among many who's plight changed over night with the help of Buttercups. On the right, he appears covered in oil. Left is, unbelievably, the same goat, after about 6 months intensive, daily, loving care once his coat re-grew back. He seems none the worse for his ordeal, although the long-term health effects of what he suffered are hard to predict.
To help us continue with this valuable work, please become a Friend of Buttercups. It costs £15 per year (although you can give more if you wish). In exchange, we'll keep you updated about what's happening at the sanctuary through the seasons - from the icy days of winter through to the balmy days of haymaking, learn of the fun times as well as the sad.
