Walking with Goats Experience
New event launching Easter 2017
Looking for a peacful stroll through the Kent countryside, but with a twist? Well look no further than our brand new Goat Walking Experience! Take one of our goats out for a walk along the various footpaths around the sanctuary, whilst the goats feast on the foliage. The "Walking with Goats Experience" will be the ideal gift for the friend who has everything, or for someone who just loves goats, or why not just treat yourself to a fun relaxing afternoon out.
You will find the goats are gentle loving creatures, full of mischief, extremely intelligent and just love human company. You will lead your own personal goat on a leisurely stroll throughout, with frequent stops for them to nibble their favourite leaves and plants and for you to take photographs of the occasion. On the way, your Walk Leaders will tell you about the local history and about the goats that you have walking with you.
The Walking with Goats Experience will start at 2pm on Saturdays (or as advertised) and we advise that you come at least half an hour early so that you may walk around the grounds and introduce yourselves to the many goats here at the Sanctuary. You may wish to relax and enjoy a cup of tea of coffee at the "Old Goat Tea Room" and purchase a gift of souvenir. Before the starting time, you will be welcomed by your guide and introduced to the work of Buttercups, the rest of the walking group and your goat companion. The walk will last in the region of an hour and a half and will leave promtly at the arranged time.
We are aiming to begin running the walks across the Easter bank holiday, starting Saturday 15th April 2017 until Monday 17th April, and then every Saturday from then on. The cost is £35 for each person and is designed for children over the age of 12 years. The walk is on level ground throughout and we recommend that you wear suitable footwear (walking shoes or wellies).
The Family Goat Walk is designed for a family of two adults and two children (over the age of 6 years) but can be adapted on request. The walk will last about 45 minutes to an hour and will be within the fenced grounds of the sanctuary. This costs £50 in total and two goats accompany the walk. Additional adults (16 years) cost £15 each, and an additional £10 per child. Family Walks depart at 2.30pm.
Advanced booking is essential. If you are interested in a goat walk, please either complete and return a booking form by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org and making an online donation for the appropriate amount, or complete and return a booking form via post with a cheque enclosed.
