The work we do here at Buttercups could not be achieved if it were not for our loyal band of volunteers. Perhaps you feel you may be able to assist us in our work by giving up a few hours a week to be a helper?

Each goat has their own pen or shares with a close companion. These are cleaned out daily and fresh sawdust and woodchips put down. Water buckets are checked each day, and cleaned out and topped up as necessary.

There is a chance to stop for a break and bit of a gossip with your fellow volunteers at about 10:30am. Inevitably, this is accompanied by the nosey intervention of the goats, who don't like to be left out of anything!
On most days, we finish around 11:30am.
Call us on 01622 746410 for further details, or why not come along to one of our open days for a chat about volunteering?
Alternatively, you may wish to offer your services via the Maidstone Volunteer Bureau, Maidstone Community Centre, Marsham Street, Maidstone, 01622 677337. They have all the necessary details regarding what is involved with volunteering.
If you are looking for a different type of volunteering, we always need volunteers to help us with other things such as:
You need your own transport, to live within the Maidstone area, and be eighteen years old or more.
Our daily routine begins at about 9am (or earlier if you can make it). The goats receive their morning meal at this time and, while this is happening, paths are swept and the outside hayracks filled. Some goats need daily medication treatment or, perhaps if a new goat has arrived at the Sanctuary, a little TLC with some brushing and reassurance.
